GUAYACAN CENTER
The Board of Directors of Grupo Guayacán, Inc. (GGI) announced on February, 2004 the creation and launch of the Guayacán Center for Global Entrepreneurship and Private Equity. The creation of the Center is designed to expand and accelerate GGI’s efforts towards the promotion and development of entrepreneurship and private equity investing in Puerto Rico.
The Center is dedicated to promoting and developing a business environment where world class entrepreneurship in Puerto Rico can robustly grow, supported by the financial, strategic and business development tools and resources that a professional private equity marketplace can provide to such entrepreneurs. The Center focuses on five initiatives: an Information Resource Center, Professional Development and Education, Networking, Promotion and Advocacy and Business Creation and Development. Each initiative is a critical element in the overall effort to promote entrepreneurship and private equity in Puerto Rico. The initiatives are described in more detail below.
| Information Resource Center |  | The Center through its dynamic website enterprizepr.com  has organized a gallery of resources available for the entrepreneurial community. The creation of two networks, the Professional and Aspiring Entrepreneur Network and the Student Network, are intended to complement the tools and resources available through the Business Plan Competition with a variety of resources, links and information on advanced courses and specialized events targeted specifically for these two groups. The Both Networks will have access to an interactive Forum from which both, professionals and students will be able to share ideas and concerns with the entrepreneurial community. |

| Professional Development & Education | | | The Center organizes and sponsors world class Professional Development programs available to entrepreneurs, private equity professionals, banking and finance professionals, and professional services providers. The programs offer technical as well as practical business tools and techniques in both private equity investing and entrepreneurship. | Networking | | | A critical element in developing an environment where ideas are generated and tested, and deals are ultimately done, The Center develops and sponsors Networking Events both on the Entrepreneur’s and Investor’s side. These networking events give participants the opportunity to come together in a professional atmosphere to hear and discuss the latest developments in their field of interest as well as have opportunities to bounce new business ideas. | Promotion & Advocacy | | The Center promotes and celebrates successful entrepreneurship. The annual conference organized by Grupo Guayacan, Puerto Rico Venture Forum’s Summit, is the culminating event of our year round effort to foster, promote and develop a market for Private Equity in Puerto Rico together with a rapidly growing community of global entrepreneurs.
